Introduction

The Institute of Biomedical and Genetic Engineering (IBGE) was established in 1992 as Pakistan’s premier biomedical and human genetics research facility.

IBGE is dedicated to basic biomedical and translational research to promote the understanding and prevention of human diseases including heart diseases, diabetes, metabolic disorders, cancer, neuropsychiatric and blood disorders.

IBGE has been working in the field of medical genetics, specifically disease genetics for more than 30 years. It is internationally recognized for its contributions to the Human Genome Diversity Project and disease genetics.

The institute is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to conduct comprehensive genetics, molecular biology and biomedical R&D, transforming research from bench to bedside.
